Director's Statement

Bollywood is the biggest film industry in the world; yet it is the most difficult industry to work in, because of it's complexities.

Honey Kapoor : The Bollywood Hero is a satire on this complex industry.

The Director, Amit R Agarwal has traveled across the world and seen some of the diverse film industries closely, he found that other than the complexity, which are common to Bollywood & Hollywood; the other common thread is the hypocrisy that is so very evident in the entertainment & media industry worldwide.

I was at New York Film Festival in 2009 and I clearly remember that the point of talk was Slumdog Millionaire winning Academy Award (Oscar). It was an independent film, a non-studio film and the filmmakers I met at New York Film Festival were all very overwhelmed. It was the 81st edition of the awards and for 80-editions independent producers weren't recognized, was the sore grouse of these American producers attending the festival!

All artists universally say in their interviews; they are victims of hypocrisy - yet when it comes to them, they inadvertently choose hypocrisy. Why?

Though a satire; Honey Kapoor : The Bollywood Hero touches very deep, serious issues that concern the global entertainment, film & media industry.
